Paternity Test Laboratory
A paternity test at paternity test.nu is performed in a very professional and reputable laboratory. DNA-test.co.uk works together with the DNA diagnostics center. We have deliberately chosen to collaborate with a leading laboratory, so that the quality and accuracy of the tests are guaranteed.
How does a paternity test work?
With us you can perform a paternity test in various ways. This way you can choose which way of conducting a paternity test is best for you. We can perform a paternity test in the following way:
✓ Order a test and perform it yourself (regular)
✓ Y-Chromosome Comparison Test
✓ Prenatal Paternity Test
Order test
When you order a paternity test via dna-test.co.uk, we deliver a test in a neutral envelope to the address you specified. You can then remove your cheek mucus yourself with a special sterile cotton swab, which is supplied in the neutral envelope. You collect the cheek mucus from yourself and your child and send it to the laboratory in the pre-addressed envelope. The paternity test is then performed in the lab. You will receive the results by email or post within 4 days.
Y-Chromosome Comparison Test
With a Y-Choromosoon comparison test you can find out whether there is a biological relationship between 2 or more men. This is because the Y-Chromoson is passed on from the father to the son, which gives an answer to the question of whether you are related to another man. The Y-Chromoson comparison test therefore differs from our regular paternity test, because you cannot test for paternity with a girl or daughter. As with the paternity test, you order the comparison test online and take a buccal mucosa. The lab will then run your test and send you the results.
Prenatal Paternity Test
As the name suggests, you can perform this paternity test during pregnancy. The paternity test can be used from the 9th week of pregnancy. It is a non-invasive test and is based on the blood of the mother as well as the blood of the alleged father. The risk for the baby is very small and the risk of a possible miscarriage is estimated as nil. This is because DNA is not taken directly from the baby.
You can have the test delivered to your home, but the blood must be taken by a doctor or nurse. A courier will collect the blood and bring it to the DDC laboratory. After the laboratory has performed the test, you will receive the result by post or e-mail. You will have the result within 10 days.
You can also have an invasive paternity test performed. You can have a test performed during the 11th and 15th week or the 16th and 22nd week of pregnancy by means of a biopsy and puncture. You have to wait longer for this and the risk of miscarriage is higher than with a non-invasive paternity test.
