With a full brother/sister test you get certainty about the biological bond between you and your brother(s) or sister(s). This can be easily tested with the buccal mucosa of you and your alleged sibling(s).

Perform full brother sister test
A full sibling test is appropriate if you want to know if you are each other’s full siblings. In other words: if you want to know whether you have the same biological parents. You can of course also perform this test with two (or more) brothers or two (or more) sisters or a combination of both.
The test can be performed without parents. But it can also be performed with both parents or with only one parent. We always advise you to have (alleged) parents tested, in order to increase the accuracy even further.
If you want to perform a full brother-six test you can order the test online. You will then receive a package from us with the necessary material. With a cotton swab, you and your sibling will remove cheek mucus. If your parents participate, they will do the same. You then send this material to the laboratory that will carry out the research. You will receive the results by e-mail or post within a few working days.
How does it work?
When you have ordered a full brother / sister test, you will receive a package with a test kit from us. This comes in a neutral packaging, where your privacy is paramount.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the parents also have to participate in the sibling test?
The sibling test can in principle be performed without parents. But if one or both parents participate, this will improve the accuracy of the test.
What is the difference between a full sibling test, a half sibling test and a combined half and full sibling test?
You take a full brother/sister test if you are sure that you have the same biological mother, but want to know whether you also have the same biological father.
You take a half-brother/half-sister test if you already know that you do not have the same biological mother, but want to know whether you do have the same biological father. Due to the complexity of this test, we recommend that at least one, but no less than two biological mothers be tested. The laboratory then excludes the DNA material passed from the mother to the children, allowing it to focus fully on any similarities in the DNA of the alleged father and the child.
You do a combined half and full brother/sister test if you do not have the same biological mother, or if you are in doubt about this and you want to know whether you have the same mother and father.
Who can participate in a full sibling test?
Siblings in different combinations. The test is therefore suitable for 2 or more brothers, 2 or more sisters and different combination of brother(s) and sister(s). It helps for accuracy if one or both parents also participate.
Is a full sibling test appropriate to establish paternity?
Yes, if the biological father of one of the children is known, a full brother/sister test can also provide information about paternity. Even if you do not have the same mother, you can get this answer, but then you must do a half-brother/half-sister test.
Are there other DNA tests that establish paternity without the father participating?
Yes, other so-called ‘indirect’ DNA tests are possible. For example, consider the Y-chromosome test, the half-brother/half-sister tests, the uncle-aunt test and the grandparent test.
I need the results urgently, is that possible?
Yes, we can speed up the process for a small additional fee. Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will inform you about the possibilities.
What is a legally valid test?
With the exception of the prenatal paternity test, all DNA tests from paternity test.nu can also be ordered in the legally valid version. Legally valid means that you can submit the result in a legal procedure or lawsuit. For example, about family reunification, custody, alimony or an inheritance. The reliability of a legally valid test is the same as with an informative (peace of mind) test. Only the collection of the DNA sample is different and must meet certain guarantees.
Can I also use the results of a peace of mind test in a lawsuit?
Although the result of a peace of mind test is just as reliable as the result of a legally valid paternity test, we are not aware of any cases where the result of a peace of mind test has been accepted in legal proceedings. That’s because of the way the DNA is taken. If the parties take the DNA themselves, without the presence of an independent third party, the court or government agency cannot simply assume that the samples submitted actually come from the right people. And that the monsters have not been tampered with. So if you want to be sure that you can use the results in a lawsuit, choose the “legally valid” option when ordering.
